MANILA, Philippines – Broadcast giant ABS-CBN once again dominated the recently concluded 2012 Gandingan Awards held at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in Laguna on Saturday night.

Several ABS-CBN shows were recognized based on the survey of 1,000 students of UPLB.

Among the awards ABS-CBN received are:

–Best Development-Oriented Station – ABS-CBN
–Best Morning Show – Umagang Kay Ganda
–Best Morning Show Hosts – Umagang Kay Ganda
–Best Documentary Program – Patrol ng Pilipino
–Best News Program – TV Patrol
–Best Development-Oriented Talk Show – The Bottomline
–Best News Anchors – Julius Babao, Ces Drilon and Karen Davila (Bandila)
–Best Documentarist – Karen Davila (Krusada)
–Best Public Service Program Host – Alvin Elchico and Bernadette Sembrano (Salamat Doc)
–Best AM Announcer – Ted Failon
–Most Development Oriented AM Program – Dos Por Dos
–Gandigan Kabuhayan – Carl Balita
–Best FM Station – Tambayan 101.9

Before the awards night was over, all the journalists took an oath to further their efforts in doing development-oriented programs which are significant to Filipinos’ lives.

Last year, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 was elevated to the awards’ Hall of Fame, having won in their respective categories for five years. – Report from Apples Jalandoni, ABS-CBN News
